KUKA industrial robots have very extensive and in-depth applications in the laser industry and are renowned for their high precision, high speed, high reliability and strong load capacity. They have become an indispensable core component of modern laser processing centers.
The laser is the core of laser processing. Currently, fiber lasers are mainly used. They have good beam quality, high electro-optical conversion efficiency, are maintenance-free, and are suitable for processing various materials.
At present, the mainstream lasers include CO2 lasers, fiber lasers, semiconductor lasers, disc lasers, etc.
The main characteristic of lasers is their single direction. Based on this, different sizes of light spots can be output through optical transmission, thus being suitable for various processing applications. In addition, the laser energy is concentrated, which makes the laser's penetration ability strong and suitable for processing thick plates.
The motion mechanism of the laser processing system is composed of moving machinery that ADAPTS to the structural characteristics of the workpiece. It usually adopts machine tool processing. Currently, the mainstream processing method is machine tool processing, which has high processing accuracy and good stability, and is mainly applied in two-dimensional processing, including laser marking, laser cutting, and laser cladding. It adopts mechanical arms, which are flexible and easy to achieve three-dimensional processing, including three-dimensional laser cutting, laser welding, etc. The processing accuracy is inferior to that of machine tools, but it has better flexibility and occupies a relatively smaller area.
The laser head is the terminal mechanism for outputting light energy in laser processing. Through the combination of optical lenses, it first expands the laser beam and then amplifies the laser through the optical lenses. According to the functions of laser processing, it can be classified into laser cutting heads, laser welding heads, laser deposition heads, scanning laser heads, laser marking heads, etc.
A common laser cutting head, equipped with a blower nozzle, uses high pressure energy to blow away the material melted by the laser, thereby forming a cut seam. At present, the mainstream laser brazing heads used in automobile factories are equipped with an automatic laser focusing function, which is more conducive to the stability of laser processing. The scanning laser head can ensure that the spot size of the laser acting on the workpiece remains unchanged by rotating the Angle and moving the position of the lens. Moreover, through control, it can achieve weld structures such as circular, straight sections, and C-shaped ones without changing the posture of the laser head.
